Aasia Baig the founder of Centenary Lounge visited Birmingham Moor St Station in 2003 when it reopened after extensive restoration by Chiltern Railways. Aasia fell in love with the charming quaint station and this encouraged her to learn about the history of the railways and the refreshment rooms. This is where the inspiration came from for our clients third project.
Centenary Lounge is a 1930’s inspired art deco café in Worcester. We had the pleasure in carrying out the complete refurbishment of this premises to deliver the clients vision. We started in January 2019 and the duration was ten weeks.
This was a very bespoke design and build which was very different to a normal shopfit. The customer required a company that was experienced, adaptable and highly skilled in bespoke work. The finishes were very traditional and there was a wide variety of materials to be combined together which all had there individual challenges. The space was also limited to work within.
Detailed project management enabled us to maintain progress. Our team worked effectively alongside one another to get the job done on time and to the highest of standards.
Our client now has a beautiful café that really appreciates and recognizes the history of the great western railway and the way in which people would relax, dine and enjoy their food.
